A strong start at Homestead for Pocono Sportscar!

The 2015 FORZA Tifosi Challenge Club Racing series kicked off this past weekend at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. With the introduction of the 458 class, there were a total of 20 cars across all four classes. The sunny weather kept the temperature in the 70s, and made for some great racing.

The Challenge Club Racing series partnered with Chin Motorsports for the 2015 season, so the track was shared with plenty of fellow driving enthusiasts.

Pocono Sportscar supported two drivers this past weekend. John Fatigati returned in his beloved yellow 355 Challenge car, and had a clean sweep for the weekend. He had the fastest practice times, qualified 1st, and won both races of the weekend. Congrats John! (see the photo below of John with his dad, Chuck, before the first race)

Ken Marlin returned in the 360 class, but in a different car from last year. Because of some technical difficulties, he could only bring the car to qualify 3rd in class, and finished in that same position. For the second race, the technical issues were solved, and the car ran very strong. Starting in 3rd, he passed both other cars in class under the green flag, and held position for the remained of the race, resulting in a first place finish. Good driving, Ken!

The second round of the CCR series will be held at the storied Sebring International Raceway on April 28th and 29th.
