Sun shines at Sebring for Round #2 of the 2015 CCR series!

With the weather in the mid seventies and the sun shining, it was a perfect weekend of racing at the iconic Sebring International Raceway. The second round of the 2015 Challenge Club Racing series saw cars from all four car classes (355, 360, 430, 458) competing on the storied track, just one week after the 2015 12 Hours of Sebring event.

Pocono Sportscar supported four drivers for the event - John Fatigati (355), Rene Zemp (355), Ken Marlin (360), and Roland Veit (458). While engine troubles prevented Roland Veit from competing in the races this weekend with his beautiful new 458, the other three drivers did very well in the two races. Ken Marlin was holding on to a hotly contested first place in class for race #1, but spun off late in the race and suffered mechanical troubles that prevented him from finishing. In the 355 class, John Fatigati, who started first in class, held on to a first place finish, while rookie racer Rene Zemp finished a strong and respectable third place in class in his CCR debut.

For race #2, Ken Marlin had a strong start and was holding onto second position before mechanical troubles slowed his pace, and could only bring hom a 4th place finish in class. John Fatigati started from second position, but had a great start on the green flag on grabbed an early lead in class, which he held onto for the remainder of the race. Rene Zemp again drove strong and brought in another podium finish. Congratulations to all the drivers!

The 2015 Challenge Club Racing series resumes at Road Atlanta on May 1st and 2nd, sharing the track with Chin Motorsports.
